How to plant flowers in a garden bed

1) Find the right location for your flowers. Here are some things to consider: Is it a sun-loving plant or a shade-loving plant? Full sun or full shade? Partial sun or partial shade?

2) Soil should be loosened to a depth of at least 12” for annuals and 18” for perennials.

3) Add at least 1’’ of Terra Blends Premium Garden Mulch and work into the existing soil.

4) Soak flowers while they’re still in their pots. Remove flowers from pot and use your fingers to lightly loosen the roots.

5) Check the plant tag for planting at proper soil level.

6) If you are planting seeds, read the directions on the seed packet for planting depth.

7) Cover the garden bed with 1 to 3 inches of your favorite Terra Blends Deco Bark.

8) Soak the soil around the planted flowers. Water deeply and according to your climate.

Benefits of using bark

  • Weed control
  • Aesthetically pleasing
