1) Mow lawn short before overseeding. Set your mower at 1.5” to 2”. Make sure to use bag to catch clippings if you don’t normally use one.
2) Rake and remove debris such as leaves, sticks, stones, dead grass, etc. This will also help loosen the soil.
3) For best results, try to select the same grass seed as the one in your lawn. Avoid mixing different seeds as it is possible they are not compatible with each other.
4) Fill spreader using Terra Blends Hydro-Overseeding Compost and mix with seeds. Set the spreader according to manufacturer instructions. Avoid overlapping seeded areas.
5) Water lightly a few times a day with a lawn sprinkler or spray hose nozzle until seeds germinate. Water as needed to keep the soil surface moist. Avoid heavy watering.
6) Limit activity on grass. Resume mowing grass once it has reached desired height.
